We welcome you to our intimate, self-catering villa in South Africa’s wildlife sanctuary reserve, Marloth Park, Mpumalanga – called Leadwood. Magnificently positioned on a green-belt it offers an authentic taste of the African bushveld, coexisting and living with and amongst the free-roaming wildlife of Marloth Park, bordering the iconic world renowned Kruger National Park.
We are five friends from France that fell in love with South Africa years ago. Followed by an opportunity and a nice encounter, we found ourselves dreaming out loud. Then came a vacant stand, an old Leadwood tree, some building plans and the rest is history.
Marloth Park is a wildlife sanctuary situated on the southern boundary of the Kruger National Park. (Approximately 420 kilometers from Johannesburg). Marloth has its own wildlife and boasts four of the big five with the exception of elephant , however as the Crocodile River forms the boundary between Marloth Park and the Kruger National Park you are lightly to spot elephants playing in the river.
Buffalo , rhino and lion are confined to Marloth’s game reserve “Lionspruit” whereas the rest of the game such as Kudu , Zebra , Giraffe , Blue wildebeest , Nyala , Impala , Warthog and plenty more aren’t restricted by fences and roam freely between the units that are built on 1500 hectares.
With the dangerous game restricted you can take a walk along the river or a mountain bike ride on the various dirt roads. Marloth Park is a birder’s paradise with a phenomenal amount of bird species on offer.
